Bridge Tolls:
What You Need to Know

Toll figures shown are indicative only. Always verify current rates on the official Øresundsbron website before travelling.

Vehicle Categories

The toll system classifies vehicles into categories based on size, height, and weight. The most common category for tourists is the standard passenger car rate.

Motorcycle

Lowest toll category. Uses standard car lanes.

Passenger Car

Standard rate. Most common for tourists and commuters.

Van / Minibus

Higher rate. Classification by height and weight.

Heavy Vehicles

Trucks and lorries. Rate by axle count and gross weight.

Payment Methods

Card payment is accepted at all toll lanes — the simplest option for occasional travellers. The BroBizz transponder system allows pre-registered drivers to use express lanes and access commuter subscription programs.

BroBizz Transponder

A transponder device mounted in the vehicle windscreen. Registered online in advance. Enables express lane access and subscription programs. Widely used by daily commuters for significant cost savings.

Commuter Programs

For regular bridge users, subscription programs through BroBizz offer reduced per-crossing rates. The savings can be substantial for daily commuters. Registration is completed online before your first crossing.

Tens of thousands of people commute across the bridge daily, and the commuter program is a well-established part of life in the Øresund Region.

The Train Alternative

Train passengers pay no bridge toll. The Øresundståg service connects Copenhagen Central to Malmö Central in approximately 35 minutes. For city-centre to city-centre travel, the train is often the most cost-effective and convenient option.
